Jammin Jars 2
Jammin Jars 2 Slot Review (Push Gaming)
The moment which many Jammin’ Jars fans have been waiting for is finally here in the form of a sequel, Jammin’ Jars 2!
Dressed for the season, the new jam-jars slot oozes with summer vibes. The makeover doesn’t stop there as Push Gaming has also added a few surprises, including the popular coin rewards, as seen in Dinopolis and Razor Shark. These instant prizes can go all the way up to 1,000x and will play a progressively important role as you wager your way through 5 levels for a chance to trigger a new bonus called the Giga Jar. This can now also be done with a smaller, 0.10 bet option. All that has lifted the maximum win potential all the way up to 50,000x, without adding much undue complexity.
Jammin’ Jars 2 is just a few weeks away from the global release on 2 June 2021. With our hands on the early access, we gave it our best try to see if it lives up to the hype and high expectations as a continuation of one of the best cluster slots ever made.

Coins – Instant Prize Symbol
Jammin’ Jars 2 marks the first game to integrate a cluster pays slot with instant win prizes.
What this means is that in addition to the 6 different fruit symbols, there are coins that are valued between 1x and 1,000x bet (wins of this size are otherwise achievable only with +32 Grenade symbols). Any time you get a cluster of 5 or more touching vertically and/or horizontally, you activate them like regular wins. The prizes will then be added together and multiplied by your total bet. Such coin clusters are quite rare in the base game, certainly less so than in Dinopolis, but can surprise with huge wins out of nowhere.
Also worth repeating that as a cluster-pays slot, each time you win, the winning symbols get removed and empty gaps filled by existing and new symbols. The one symbol that really helps with the longevity of these cascades is the beloved Wild Jar.
Fruit Blast Feature
Fruit Blast is essentially the same feature as Rainbow Feature in Jammin’ Jars 1.
It is completely random, so when the DJ Jar decides it’s time for a drop, it will blast one or more Giant Symbols of the same type. Once on the board, they will proportionally transform into many small symbols. Again, it rarely happens (because of the RTP allocation I guess), but unlike the original cluster slot, among these Giant Fruit Symbols can also be Coins. And among those coins 1,000x win multipliers!
Probabilistically, your best bet for a sizable win is the good old Wild Jars.
Wild Jars
Wild Jars are special for three reasons:
- They substitute for all other symbols,
- They change positions between cascades,
- They have a multiplier that increases +1x with every substitution.
And when 3 or more Wild Jars appear on the screen, you also win the Free Spins bonus.
Free Spins Bonus
Push Gaming has kept the original free spins bonus pretty much unchanged. You’ll get 6 free spins for your effort, during which a minimum of three Jam Jars will bounce around with a chance of growing multipliers. The only thing that’s new in this particular bonus is the addition of instant rewards as mentioned above, which make reel drops slightly more interesting but at the expense of space that would otherwise be reserved for the fruits.
That makes for a bonus one of two because there is more in store.
Collectable Gold Vinyl
One of the key differences in Jammin’ Jars 2 is that on top of the standard paytable there’s a progressive feature that leads to an all-new Giga Jar Feature. For a chance to get a shot at it, you need to be on level 5, also known as the Max Level. And the only way to upgrade is by collecting Gold Vinyl symbols.
Below you’ll see that levels don’t only move you closer to the rare feature but also improve RTP margins as follows:
- Level 1 – average RTP 96.10%, need 20 Gold Vinyl to clear this level,
- Level 2 – average RTP 96.20%, need 25 Gold Vinyl to level up,
- Level 3 – average RTP 96.30%, need 30 Gold Vinyl to move up,
- Level 4 – average RTP 96.40%, need 35 Gold Vinyl to reach MAX level,
- MAX Level – average RTP 96.60%, any Gold Vinyl can trigger the Giga Jar feature.
When the MAX level is reached, every additional Gold Vinyl can trigger the Giga Jar Feature (and it can also not move the needle). I have seen it trigger within seconds and also watched it come to life after grinding well into an hour, with quite a few regular bonuses in between.
👍 Tip: Starting from 1st July 2021, Jammin’ Jars 2 has three RTP configurations: 96.40%, 95.35% and 90,80%. The return to player will change from level to level according to the base RTP setup.
Giga Jar Feature
When the DJ Jar finds the right Gold Vinyl, it will award 8 Giga Spins!
The board will break down into 49 slots that will spin independently. All fruit will disappear, so only the coins and extra spins will be visible and collectable (think Razor Reveal feature).
As each symbol position spins and the coins start appearing, wins will still be rewarded by the cluster pays mechanism: you’ll still need 5 or more coins in a cluster to make them pay out. What makes it more interesting is that there will also be 3 to 4 Wild Jars with multipliers that are random and progressive.
The most rewarding element about the Giga Jar Feature is that the Giga Jar itself will randomly appear on the screen as a 2Ă—2, 3Ă—3 or 4Ă—4 symbol block! It counts as one huge coin, so because the 3Ă—3 and 4Ă—4 blocks include more than 5 small symbols, these rare Giga Jar blocks will trigger a win on every spin.
The aim is to fill the entire screen with as many coins as possible because they don’t disappear. Get a paying block with a 500x or 1,000x symbol early on in the bonus, and you’ll reap its rewards till the end of the feature. That is certainly one way how to make the 50,000x bet, but I would not take this bonus for granted. At least when the free games end, the levels will reset to 2, 3 or 4, so you don’t have to start from scratch.
Conclusion
As a contender to one of the best slots ever made, Jammin’ Jars 2 does not disappoint. It is one of the rare cases when a sequel is just as brilliant as the original, if not better. Gameplay-wise the new release feels positively familiar in the same way that made the first game enjoyable to play for its volatile but potentially very rewarding win scenarios. Although the developers stressed that they were also aiming at keeping things just as simple, I cannot help but wish I was playing at those higher and potentially more rewarding levels. The design team at Push Gaming have also worked on the graphics and animations to give it a detailed facelift which has worked out nicely, especially for the portrait mode. The introduction of a smaller, 0.10 bet option, is also a bit step forward as more players will be able to have a go at the disco slot.
Because the two games play so similar in many ways, it mostly boils down to the new Giga Jar feature. While it can backfire very badly, to just play for the sake of “getting to the end”, Push Gaming was clever about the progressive RTP. In practice, you really have a sense of things improving at those higher levels, whether you get the Giga Jar or not. As for me, I think adding that light at the end of the tunnel helps to keep things fresh and interesting, especially that this is a sequel after all. I can see where complaints of injustice may come from, but there’s nothing stopping from switching to Jammin’ Jars 1 which is still one of the greatest online casino games.
Overall, Jammin’ Jars 2 is a very strong release. It will be interesting to see how the crowd will respond and if it will hold its lead as the best cluster slot of the year or even go for something bigger in our annual slot awards. So far, it looks like a solid competitor!
