Big Bamboo Slot Review (Push Gaming)
Who? – Big Bamboo!
The new slot from Push Gaming is both a beauty and a beast. As you sway to the rhythm of enchanting Japanese music, you’ll slowly start to encounter the many features and quirks that it has in store. Among them are the mystery symbol stacks that received lots of praise in Razor Shark, one of their cult slots. Furthermore, while it may be a rough comparison, the game also has some elements that have made Relax’s Money Train series so popular, namely the multiplier collector symbol! And yes, there is plenty of stuff to collect in this Asian-inspired slot, including the studio’s signature instant-reward coins, which Razor Shark and Dinopolis fans will also appreciate. And we’re just scratching the surface here because this slot has a lot to offer.
See below for the full review or go ahead and set a reminder for the 3 March 2022, when you can play it across Push Gaming slot sites like Casumo.

Bib Bamboo has a 6×5 reel-set with 50 bet-lines. You’ll come across 8 regular symbols that appear in stacks, which is an important nuance in this game. Among them are four medium-to-high symbols. What you really want is the Panda. Getting 5 of them on a line will pay a 150x bet, which is a probability of 1 spin in 2,408. Considering that there are 50 lines and that symbols come in stacks, that’s 7,500x for the full screen right there. In this game, that’s something not out of this world.
Big Bamboo also has a wild card that also pays the same as Panda, and a Mystery Bamboo symbol that can reveal a random symbol, including the wild card.
Mystery Bamboo is a reveal symbol that appears throughout the game. While it won’t nudge as it does in Razor Shark, it goes beyond the dull regular symbol reveal because it can also reveal some special symbols. One of them is the Golden Bamboo.
👍 Tip: Mystery symbols also make an appearance in Mystery Museum, Land of Zenith and the most notable of them, Razor Shark.
Golden Bamboo Feature
Each golden mystery symbol in the stack will transform into a prize raffle which can reveal one of the following:
- Instant Prize Symbols – worth 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x, 1,000x, 2,500x or 5,000x apiece.
- Multiplier Symbols – worth 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x each.
- Scatter Symbols – need at least three to trigger the bonus feature.
- Gamble Scatter Symbols – has the potential to trigger one of the three free spin bonuses.
- Collector Symbols (much more frequent than you’d think) – collects the values of all other instant prizes and collector symbols. Respins all Golden Bamboos.
While the golden bamboo is totally worth the hype, there’s also this main feature with free spins which includes it.
Free Spins Bonus
A maximum of 3 Scatters can appear on the screen to trigger an entry into the free spins gamble feature in one of the following prizes:
- 4-9 Free Spins with no symbols converted to Mystery Bamboo.
- 7-9 Free Spins with 2 low symbols converted to Mystery Bamboo symbol.
You can totally accept the prize or take the risk and gamble for a better one in the Gamble Feature (see below).
Even if you win the barebones bonus (with no low symbols converted into bamboo), you can and most likely will have plenty of opportunities to progress during the free games. This is done by collecting Scatter symbols into a special meter. As soon as you collect 4 Scatters, one extra symbol will turn into the mystery bamboo. With each conversion you also get the following boosters:
- 1st symbol conversion: +4 spins and Golden Bamboo feature gets 2x multiplier.
- 2nd symbol conversion: +3 spins and Golden Bamboo feature gets 3x multiplier.
- 3rd symbol conversion: +3 spins and Golden Bamboo feature gets 5x multiplier.
- 4th symbol conversion: +2 spins and Golden Bamboo feature gets 10x multiplier.
Keep in mind that +1, +2 or +3 free spins can also be won during the Golden Bamboo feature by landing the so-called Gamble Scatter!
While getting a full screen of the same symbol is nice, the biggest rewards are hidden within the Golden Bamboo. Imagine hitting big instant prizes (up to a staggering 5,000x) with multiplier symbols, plus a collector to re-spin it all and repeat. The cherry on top is the Golden Bamboo multiplier which can magnify the entire Golden Bamboo earnings by up to 10x! You can see how all this can add up very quickly, even to an extent that the 50,000x win may seem artificially low.
Depending on the initial Free Spins trigger prize, the gamble feature will present with an upgraded bonus. Hence, if you win the barebones feature, you can only gamble for the tier 2 bonus. If successful, you can then gamble that to the tier 3 bonus, which is the best but is far less likely to be won during the gamble wheel.
Should you decide to take the leap of faith then here are the possible scenarios:
- Blank – no free games feature trigger.
- 4-9 Free Spins – regular free spins bonus.
- 7-9 Free Spins with 2 low symbols converted to Mystery Bamboo symbol.
- 8-10 Free Spins with all 4 low symbols converted to Mystery Bamboo symbol.
Ironically, using the gamble feature will theoretically increase the RTP from 96.13% to 96.52%. If you like to gamble then there’s more.
👍 Tip: The probability of winning the maximum prize of 50,000x bet is 1 in 21,000,000 without gambling and 1 in 10,000,000 with use of the gamble feature.
If you live outside of the UK and want to get access to the bonuses directly then you can buy them at any time for the following bet amounts:
- 99x – Awards 7-9 free spins with no low symbols converted (default RTP 96.13%, RTP gamble feature RTP 96.94%)
- 179x – Awards 7-9 free spins with 2 low symbols converted (default RTP 96.13%, RTP gamble feature RTP 96.76%)
- 608x – Awards 8-10 free spins with all 4 low symbols converted (default RTP 96.71%, RTP gamble feature RTP 96.71%)
- 300x – Mystery free spins feature awards one of the three features from above (default RTP 96.53%, RTP gamble feature RTP 96.74%).
So if you get bored and if you have the option and willingness, then consider the bonus buy that can cost as little as 9.90 credits with the minimum stake.
There is a lot going on in the game, but the team has done a great job at keeping it at a balanced level that is both not too complex in the short run but interesting enough to keep players coming back for another spin. That’s the premise at least, but there are moments when the slot switches gears and you find yourself bored watching the bamboo grow in the background. In situations like this, the bonus buy is more tempting than ever, so it’s good to have it at hand. Then there are times when things really take off, which can even happen during regular bamboo reveals thanks to special additions like the collector feature. The ramp-up in the free spins can be especially exciting with the addition of more bamboo symbols and the main multiplier. However, as thrilling and rewarding as all this may seem, Big Bamboo is a high-stakes game, so volatility will fluctuate significantly.
Nevertheless, it’s a joy to play slots from Push Gaming as they seem to go above and beyond to make sure that their games are of the best quality. Big Bamboo lives up to their reputation and is one of my favourites so far this year.

We do not send them the reviews for an early look, so everything we say is our honest opinion. Should we ever do a paid article, it will not be a “review” and we will make sure to mark it as a sponsored article or an “ad”.
Can you trust Mvideoslots.com reviews? I hope so, because at the end of the day I want you to be happy with the casino or slot that you choose. But I also encourage you to look at other trusted sites which may have different opinions. If you decide to look around then make sure that it is a trusted source because it is common practice for casino operators to have their own “review sites” which are biased, not to mention the sites which have reviews written by people who are not following the industry.
