The slot is presented as a 6×7 grid which is different from the rest in the series. They include several pay symbols but with it a number of blockers – a signature feature in the tumble series – that you can breakthrough as the game progresses. The curious thing is this is not a MegaWays branded game (unlike Temple Tumble). Go figure what they’ve done here.

It’s a highly volatile slot with an RTP of 96.25%, increasing to 96.92% within the feature buy section. Even more so than Temple Tumble, this slot is high volatility which can make you go decent lengths of time having fairly baron spells of no wins. The flip side is that when you do manage to trigger your win, the game springs into life and you get a longer look at the meat of the slot.

A hit frequency of 20% is on the low side, but again, it backs up what I was saying about needing a little patience here. The fact that it comes with the series’ highest max win of 17,280x bet means that hanging about within the game can pay off.

If I were being hypercritical at this point about the gameplay, I’d have to say that it moves a little too quick. Even when you hit the bonus rounds, it all moves too fast and given that you can go hours with no decent wins, it means the gameplay is affected. The flip side is that the adrenaline junkies amongst you are likely going to love it, so each to their own here.

Wilds (Mystery Reveal)

The wild is a key symbol with any slot and Templar Tumble is no different. When they drop in the main game, they change 3-8 blockers into mystery symbols. They will remain on the grid until all wins are paid out and then all turn into the same regular symbol or into a coin. These multiplier coins can make all the difference as they can be worth up to 1,000x bet, each!

Free Spins

The only bonus that the Templar Tumble has going apart from the mystery symbol reveal is the free spins. Access to this bonus round is granted by destroying all the blocker symbols in the main game. This usually occurs after multiple wins, before the “tumble” feature kicks in, removing the blockers and replacing them with live symbols. This gives access to all the 117,649 pay ways with no blockers.

The game moves from outside of the cathedral to inside, and with it, you are instantly granted (only) 6 free spins. Once the game starts, there are three sets of key symbols that you need to keep an eye out for and these are wilds, mystery symbols and high symbols.

As the wilds drop, they change 3-6 of the normal symbols into mystery symbols. The more of these that you accumulate, the more winning combinations you make and the more times the tumble feature will kick in to create these combinations.

After each turn, the mystery symbols can morph into both multiplier coins and additional free spins. The multiplies can still be worth anywhere between 1x and 1,000x and since you are far more likely to get a Wild on each spin compared to the base game, this is where the real money is won.

It’s hard to say if this offers good value, but you need to note that, as mentioned earlier, the RTP does rise slightly when you choose this. Also, mind that the average free spins win is 77.5x your bet. Because of the high variance, it did take me hours to get anything above 500x within the bonus, which you can see from the video.
