Wild Toro 2 is an exciting sequel to ELK Studios’ award-winning 2016 slot.
Hosted by the same Spanish bullfighting characters, the new slot is designed to be a smooth continuation of the Matador and Toro saga. This time, the game has in store not only the Walking Wilds but progressive multipliers and expanding reels. All of this is taken to the next level with their optional bonus bets through a feature called X-iter. It’s a pity that players from jurisdictions like the UK won’t be able to experience the game to the fullest, as is the case with all slots with the bonus buy, at this time. But worry not, Wild Toro 2, as you will soon see, is well capable of producing some decent wins even in the base game alone. The maximum payout is not four times bigger and stands at 10,000x bet!

Wild Toro 2 has retained much of the simplicity around the main wild feature but is now more elaborate and refined thanks to the new updates across the board, including custom X-bets that you will need to buy to unlock the game’s maximum potential.
Base Game
The second Wild Toro may not look that different from the original, which is a good thing, but there are some major differences. There are now a couple of more low-paying symbols and the payouts among the high and low symbols are more evenly distributed. That’s partly because there are now 259 ways to win instead of 178, which can grow further to 340, 421 and all the way up to 502 connecting pay-lines as the rows grow during play.
Walking Symbols
Toro is, traditionally, a Walking Wild symbol that only appears on reel 5. He will always chase Matador(s) that are in view.
There are three types of Matador walking symbols:
- Black Matador – walking blocker (only attracts Toro, non-wild symbol)
- Silver Matador – walking wild
- Gold Matador – walking wild with a random multiplier that increases with every step/re-spin.
Matadors can show up on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Whenever they do, they start moving leftwards until they spin out from the first reel. Meanwhile, you’ll get free re-spins during which you will want to see Toro appear, plus an extra row of symbols at the top. It’s called the Expanding Matador Respins.
Toro Goes Berzerk
The only way to score big wins in this series is to have Toro chase Matador symbols. As he moves vertically and then horizontally to attack, he’ll leave wild symbols behind him. Remember that he is a walking symbol too, so whether that sequence triggers a win or not, he will start moving leftward and reward re-spins free of charge. Should one or more new Matadors appear, he will chase them down too, plus you’ll get the extra rows, up to 8 in total for 502 pay-lines!
Here’s the best part, when he attacks a Gold Matador, which has a multiplier, he will absorb that multiplier values and become a Walking Multiplier Wild himself. And any additional Toro symbols that appear will get the same multiplier! These win magnifiers will be combined on a win. As you will see from the video above, this can really escalate and create some stunning wins.

X-iter Bonus Bets
The second slot doesn’t have Betting Strategies anymore but it does have X-bets! The X-iter comes with 5 different game modes that you can purchase to make the game more interesting instantly:
- 100% Win (5x bet) – Guarantees a winning game round with all dead spins removed.
- Sticky Wilds (25x bet) – 1 spin with a guaranteed Expanding Matador Respins feature. All wild symbols that appear will remain sticky.
- Bonus (100x bet) – guarantees the Toro Goes Berzerk feature.
- Big Bonus (250x bet) – 3 spins with at least 1 Expanding Matador Respins feature. All wild symbols that appear will remain sticky for the subsequent respins. Expanded rows will not reset between spins.
- Super Bonus (500x bet) – 3 spins with at least 1 Expanding Matador Respins feature. All wild symbols that appear will remain sticky for the subsequent respins. Expanded rows will not reset between spins. The highest multiplier in a spin is added to any Gold Matador multiplier that appears in the following spin.
The costs of the features speak of the average win potential. Keep in mind that this bet option is not available in the UK.

Conclusion
The new Wild toro game has a lot of character to it, perhaps even more so than the original. The first game did a good job at introducing a fun new feature and the second version takes the concept further through plenty more dimensions. I’m mostly referring to the progressive multipliers (Gold Matadors) and the X-bet, which is both a blessing and a curse, as it is the only way to unlocking the game’s full potential. From the five different modes, most players should find something that fits their budget and liking. That is unless you’re playing from the UK, in which case you’ll be left out.
ELK Studios has done a great job at updating the game without adding alien bells and whistles, so as a fan of the 2016-release I found the whole setup nice and familiar. The volatility of 7 out of 10 is also pretty much the same as it was, which when compared to their other games is in the same ballpark as Nitropolis 2. That and the fact that big wins are not reserved for players who can spin the longest, keeps the Wild Toro series exciting and welcoming for the same target market, mainly casual gamblers.
That being said, keep an eye out for two more Toro slots, the Book of Toro (released on November 2nd) and Toro 7s!
